Synology License Order FAQ #
How fast is delivery after a Synology License Order? #
Keys are sent by email around the clock, including weekends and public holidays. There is no waiting for office hours, which matters when a camera system is already installed and you are standing on site.
Do I get an invoice? #
Yes. Every order includes an invoice with full company details, suitable for accounting, expense claims and business reimbursement.
Why do I need a copy of the licence card? #
Synology support asks for proof of purchase when you open a ticket or migrate a licence to different hardware. Without the card image or PDF you can be left arguing about a key you legitimately own.
Can I return a licence I have not used? #
Unused licences can be returned within 60 days. Once a key has been activated on a NAS it is bound to that Synology Account, so activation is the point of no return.
Are these official Synology licences? #
Yes. They are the same keys Synology issues through its distribution channel, which is why they activate normally and stay valid through DSM updates. Keys from generators stopped activating when Synology blocked them in DSM 7.1.
